The Prayer Box...

Yesterday we had to go to the doctor for my husband. He was required to undergo a special treatment for his Diabetes. We were a bit downcast at the conclusion of the visit so we stopped by The Treasure Store, a place where we once had a booth for our Folk Art and Antiques. As we sauntered over to a new vendor's booth I just felt a wave of 'everything's gonna be alright'! Have you ever felt the wave?

I walked directly to this box. It was as if it was calling me.

Oh, it's beautiful. It is a Cranberry red color, has a little door with a bas relief of Jesus praying at The Garden of Gethsemane on the front. I opened it and there were two little drawers and a beautiful green velvet lining inside the door. Upon opening the drawers I found them to be filled with small cards, each with a scripture printed at the bottom on front and back and a place at the top for Prayers:...and on the back Answers:...!

The scripture on the Prayer side reads: Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. Philippians 4:6
The scripture on the Answer side reads: From the fullness of His grace we have all received one blessing after another. John 1:16

My heart lept within me as I keep a log of sorts of different requests that come from the forums.
I looked at the price tag and it was $3.00!!!!! I nearly shouted!!!!!

The box required no touch-up or cleaning, it still had tags on it. I just know that it was placed for me. Folks were coming and going in that booth and no one gave the little box a thought.
Today, I wrote the first request. It is for my husband, Frank. His Diabetes is out of control and only God can bring it to where it needs to be.

Will you please pray for him? And for me? We have other needs that I won't go into but God knows all about it.

You know what? Your name is going to end up in this box, too. Every time you have a need, know that someone cares and listens and that prayers are being shot like cannon fire to heaven on your behalf.

Thank you all for indulging me with this little story. I pray it gives you a ray of hope, too. The Prayer Box...a box of victory.
